Meet Rooted Synergy Gallery!

Allow us to introduce you to Rooted Synergy Gallery

An art gallery focused on growing roots in the community…together, through art.

How do we do this, you ask? Well, Rooted Synergy Gallery provides a platform for local artists to tell their stories and sell their works both through our virtual space and our physical gallery located in the Fair Deal Village.

Each time a piece is sold through Rooted Synergy Gallery, a portion of the proceeds is donated by the artist and put back into a community initiative in need of support. It is a way of bringing people together who share our loves of art, community and giving back to those who need it most, as it is our belief that the best way of building a stronger Omaha is together.

As we launch this effort, we ask for you all to find a way to be part of the adventure in one or more of the following ways:

  • Become a featured artist! We encourage artists, of all mediums, to apply and learn more on how to feature your work in Rooted Synergy Gallery.
  • Buy some art! For those who are not the creative types, please support our artists and community by purchasing a piece, or two or three.
  • Tell us about community projects that need support! We want to know which local non-profits, projects and initiatives that are not currently getting the resources they need. Let us know how we can help!

We are excited to get started growing these roots together! Thank you for your support!

Photos by MjY: Your World…My Photos

Hey! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time. First let me say this, I am not a photographer… I have a camera and I like to take photos. I like to show people how I see things and to find a new perspective. Not only physically, but to also entertain a new point of view.

I purchased my first REAL camera back in 2013, used, and a Nikon. Yes, I am #teamnikon. LOL, but seriously it was THE best investment that I could have made. Wrapping up a divorce, co-parenting, politics, community and just life as a bi-racial man in #omaha, I needed an escape.

When the weather was nice or the best riding season, I would ride my motorcycle everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. Lake of the Ozarks, South Padre Island or even just to the river bank for the day. When I ride, my phone, emails, stress would just be gone. It was me, Muddy Waters flowing and the wind. So, when I couldn’t go do that, I needed a replacement. Being still, technical and earbuds in, allotted me all of what I needed. Honestly, the best part is when I tell my story of where ‘I was’ when I took the pictures. A journal, if you will…

I have never sold one photo, nor have a I tried, but I went out on a limb and scared myself to do this. I have heard for years that people wanted to see that ‘real’ side of me, and not just the corporate & political version, but the one that laughs, cries and at times, love fancy rum way too much!

Please check out some of my photos and stories on PhotosbyMjY.com

Sirianni Studios: Inspired by the Everyday

I grew up enveloped in all things creative – always doing crafts or drawing. As I got older, I my creativity began to fizzle out. I felt boxed in by my art classes and found myself not enjoying the process of making things anymore. So…I stopped creating art altogether…for a really long time.

When I found my love for art again, I was well into my 20s and decided it was time to begin creating on my own terms. No more assignments from teachers grading every pencil mark or brush stroke. After a lifetime of trying to make things as realistic as possible, I found joy in expressing myself through combining the structure of realism and the chaos of abstraction. This is how Sirianni Studios was born in 2013. By removing the restraints of what I was instructed as being “good art” growing up, I opened myself up to being inspired by the things around me. Because everything can be amazing art when you put what you feel into it.

So now, when listening to music, walking through a new place or even watching a movie, the things I see and hear start taking form in my head as colors and shapes that usually end up on any canvas I can find. My hope in creating is that others will be inspired by and enjoy what they see. It is the most wonderful feeling when someone chooses to buy a piece and love it the way I loved creating it. And now, the opportunity to bring my work to you all through Rooted Synergy Gallery is a dream come true…spreading happiness through art while giving back to those in need here in our community. Thank you all for supporting and helping make this dream a reality!
